By 1890 50% of the Norwegian population had
immigrated to the United States because of a potato famine and a
significant number settled in the Midwest.

Pine Needle Basket
I'm not usually impressed by pine needle baskets, but this one is larger and better than most—probably a sewing basket.
Thread/yarn decoration of flowers and leaves now faded with age (see interior photo for original color).
Wear commensurate with age.
